(Grand Rapids, MI) – Tris4Health races (Grand Rapids Triathlon and MI Titanium) have been recognized as quality events by the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness.
Tris4Health Race Management formed both the Grand Rapids Triathlon and the MI Titanium Triathlon with the mission to promote healthy living and bring world-class triathlons to West Michigan.
Known for its personal record course and locale, the 3rd Annual Grand Rapids Triathlon is scheduled for Sunday, June 9, 2013. It takes place in Ada and Cascade, Michigan, providing a triathlon that interests the beginner to advanced triathlete.
The 2nd Annual MI Titanium will take place Sunday, August 25, 2013. It is a triathlon for the seasoned athlete and is the only full iron distance triathlon offered in the state of Michigan. The race spans 140.6 miles in the Grand Rapids, Plainfield area, starting at Versluis Park.
The Governor’s Council endorses local, regional and state events to acknowledge an organization’s ability to plan and carry out a quality event that significantly contributes to the health and well-being of Michigan residents. The Grand Rapids Triathlon and MI Titaniumexemplify this core value.
“By endorsing local events all across the state, we hope to bring attention to the importance of physical activity and encourage our citizens to take responsibility for their health,” said Marilyn Lieber, president and CEO of the Governor’s Council. “These local events can have a tremendous impact on health care costs that present a significant challenge for our state’s economy.”
“We are passionate about growing our community healthy by creating events to attract athletes ranging from expert to novice from the Midwest region and across the country,” says Ann & Andy Vidro, co-owners of Tris4Health.
