About Grand Rapids Triathlon

Grand Rapids Triathlon is Michigan’s largest independent triathlon. The flat and fast course is ideal for the new and experienced triathlete alike. Participants can enjoy a beautiful swim in the lake-like Thornapple River, ride the flat country-road bike course then finish with a run on a scenic and shaded course with loads of local support. Known as one of the best welcoming races for first-time triathletes, GRTri offers several free clinics leading up to the event, a pre-race swim, group pre-rides at the race site and an amazing expo.

GRTri takes place over two days, to make for one epic weekend of multisport racing. Saturday showcases the short courses with super sprint and sprint distances, while Sunday boasts the longer course with Olymic and half distances. GRTri also offers aquabike, duathlon, relay and swim-only events. The next Grand Rapids Triathlon is set to take place on June 7 & 8, 2025.
